I took my girl friend, Karen, and her daughter, Jade, with me to the home building center Saturday. Looked at the options for cabinets, countertops, appliances, fireplaces, carpet, vinyl flooring, exterior colors, rock and brick, and bathrooms. Textured or untextured walls, 2 or 6 panel doors? Natural or Spice cabinets? Square, Roman or Cathedral cabinets? Traditional or Rustic? AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
It was fun, but so much to choose from, and not a whole lot of money. So now I need to go back with my questions and find out if some of the options can be completed after the home is built. Like, hiring someone to come do the job for me when I have enough money. Fell in love with the fireplace though. Hmmmmm. I would really like the kitchen island too...but...maybe I can just buy that separate at a later date?
I still think I want to go with the ceiling height cabinets, and a backsplash for the kitchen sink, and maybe even the overhang for the countertop.
I figure, I will go with the cheap vanities and counters in the bathrooms and just replace them later with what I really want. And the cheap lighting that is included with the house. I just dont want to replace the kitchen, carpeting and doors. All else, I think I can live with...
After our hours of fun of creating an unreasonably priced home, we went to Mimi's Cafe for some lunch and wonderful company.
Too much to think about. Still thinking about it. Hope I can make this dream come true. Pray for me!

Work and wishing I was somewhere else...
I am working at Ancestry.com on a new International project. It can be a tedious job at times, but I love it. The guys on the team I work with are great and very intelligent, fun to work with smart people, and we all have a good sense of humor.
I would rather be daydreaming of a new cozy home, a new best friend (I want to get myself an Akita) and a craft room where I can sew, scrapbook, and do genealogy all in one place. Praying it becomes a reality in the next few months.
For those of you following this blog, I have another one, called "Unrequited Love"...(of the married kind). I think one thing I will do, if and when I get this new home, is to be sure to plant a memorial garden for all my ex'es. A flower bed of "PANSIES"!!! okay, that may be mean, but those of you who really know me, know that I dont have a mean bone in my body. Just my sense of humor to help ease the pain. I know I am easily taken advantage of by men who make promises they never intended to keep. Shame on them! They could have had it great! Great cook, great provider, great lover, great friend, okay, I'm getting a little full of myself.
Tomorrow will be an exciting day, as I get to go to my home fitting orientation and browse through all the choices of carpet and flooring, cabinetry and countertops, applicances and bath fixtures, paint and lighting. How will I ever make up my mind on so many choices?
Maybe I should just move into the home fitting center. Why not? It has everything I ever wanted!!!

A new home...maybe
August 22, Saturday, 9:30am, my daughter, Haley, and I went to a homebuyers seminar in Lindon, UT. My ultimate decision, and it was a big one, was to put down money on a lot to build a home. I couldn't get the house I really wanted, too expensive. So I opted for the largest rambler style home they had to offer. Figured as I grow older I won't want to be climbing stairs. Hopefully will be able to retire here.
Haley was excited, we each got a gas card, and some yummy pastries for showing up...then Haley, lucky girl, won the gift card to Applebee's.
I am currently working to improve my credit score with the help of a credit counselor from Fieldstone Homes. From there I will see if I can qualify for a home loan through their in house mortgage company.
My plot of dirt, clay, rocks and weeds!!! Yay for me, I can plant a garden! Another dream!
